"Take It Easy" is a song written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey, and recorded by the Eagles.  It was the Eagles first single released on May 1, 1972.  The song peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Charts and remained on the charts for 11 weeks.  In 1999, in response to the lyrics that made it famous, the city of Winslow erected a life-size bronze statue and mural commemorating the song at the "Standin' on the Corner Park". The statue stands near a lamp post, the male figure is holding an acoustic guitar. Above his head, a metal sign displays the words "Standin' on the corner". An image of this iconic monument is shown during this video of the song performed by Jean.
